Lead Design Engineer Electrical 

Role Overview

We are seeking a Lead Design Engineer - Electrical with 5-8 years of experience in electrical design for shipbuilding or the marine engineering field. The ideal candidate will play a key role in designing, reviewing, and delivering high-quality electrical systems and solutions for shipbuilding projects. 

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and execute electrical design activities for shipbuilding/marine engineering projects. 

• Develop and review electrical drawings, schematics, and wiring diagrams. 

• Perform load calculations, equipment selection, and cable sizing. 

• Ensure compliance with classification societies, IMO, IEC, and marine standards. 

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams (structural, mechanical, piping) to ensure design integration. 

• Support design reviews, technical discussions, and client interactions. 

• Provide mentoring and guidance to junior engineers in the team. 

• Participate in troubleshooting, modification, and optimization of existing designs. 

Required Skills & Experience

• Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering (or equivalent). 

• 5-8 years of proven experience in electrical design within shipbuilding or marine engineering domain. 

• Strong knowledge of marine electrical systems: power distribution, lighting, navigation, communication, and automation. 

• Familiarity with ship classification society rules and marine electrical standards. 

• Proficiency in AutoCAD, EPLAN, or similar electrical design tools. 

• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills. 

• Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
